Volunteer Opportunities with World Relief

This year World Relief Memphis is welcoming over 200 refugees!

As families arrive, we need help sorting through donations and preparing their first home. Volunteer to help make a house a home once, twice, or however many times!

Help a recent refugee or asylee family or individual adjust to American life by walking alongside them with a group of volunteers (a small group of your friends and/or fellow church members). You'll be their guide from the very beginning, from meeting them at at the airport, to helping enroll them in social services, to building a relationship.

Build relationships by coming alongside a refugee or immigrant youth ages 15-24 as they navigate life in the U.S., from high-school to college to career opportunities. Along the way, you'll not only be helping to build their confidence but also be creating relationships that transform. Learn more.

Build friendships while building English skills!

Contribute to empowering newly arrived refugees and other immigrant individuals by teaching basic foundational literacy skills.

Studying to be a teacher or ESL teacher? Get practicum hours by volunteering as a TA!

Lead small group activities, conversation practice, monitor students’ written and spoken activities, and support individual student needs with potential to teach small-groups and mini-lessons in the Connect Language Center.

Host homes provide a safe place to stay, friendship and much needed rest for those in a time of transition. Right now we have an urgent need for host homes in three different capacities. All hosts must submit proof of COVID-19 vaccination for everyone 12 and up in the household.
