Helping Our Afghan Allies
Together we can respond.
We all remember the headlines coming out of Afghanistan in August 2021
Images of people at the airport desperately trying to escape from their own country. Planes packed wall to wall with men, women and children.
Many of you stepped-up to help and gave to World Relief and trusting us with your resources and your compassion. We take that trust seriously. Your generosity has impacted the lives of thousands of Afghans who made it to safety in the U.S. Thank you.
Together, we've welcomed more than 2,300 Afghan women, men and children to our communities so far. Helping them rebuild will take time and require more staff, more volunteers, more churches, more donors and more prayer. It will take more people like you who are committed to welcoming well.
Together, we can respond.

"I helped U.S. troops in Afghanistan. I'm safe now, but I worry for friends I left behind."
Program participant Seeta Habib and her family were resettled in Memphis in October 2020 through the special immigrant visa program. She and her husband had served as interpreters and journalists for U.S. forces in their home country, and they were consequently targeted by the Taliban. Read her story here.
As World Relief continues to resettle Afghans who were evacuated from Afghanistan, we are reminded that resettlement often comes with both grief and gratitude.
For Afghans like David, resettling in Texas has been an immense gift of safety, security and community. And yet, he feels the heartache of leaving his home and extended family behind. We are grateful to David for sharing his story with us. Read his story here.
